Indian cuisine is more than just spicy curries and an endless variety of spices and smells. Indian food is a feast for the senses!

Aromatic, colorful, spicy to spicy and diverse – this is the best way to describe Indian cuisine. But there is no one Indian cuisine: over the centuries, religious and cultural influences have had very different effects on the regions.

The various Indian regional cuisines differ in the preparation of the dishes, the spices and ingredients used. However, there are some commonalities that are common across India. These are mainly table customs but also various dishes that are common throughout the Indian subcontinent. The dishes and ingredients include curry, massala and chutneys.

Hearty meat dishes, usually with lamb or chicken, are typical for the north. One of the most famous dishes is tandoori chicken, which is traditionally prepared in a tandoor, a clay oven. Samosas, savory filled dumplings, also come from the north.
Biryani (rice stew, often with nuts), curry dishes and lots of chili characterize the typical South Indian cuisine.
